Recently, a customer shared his wonderful comment about his newly purchased PrimaLuna EVO 400 Tube Integrated Amplifier!

“After decades with my Onkyo Grand Integrated amp and preamp I unexpectedly crossed over to a tubed amp setup with the PrimaLuna EVO 400 integrated amp. What needs to be understood up front is I did not make this switch because my system was lacking. In fact, I love my Onkyo’s with my Klipsch Forte’s. I paired them back in the 1980’s living in Japan and have always enjoyed their sound (and still do). Granted, I was aware my system was not ‘top of the line’ – but it wasn’t bad sounding either. Then, one day, ListenUp in Albuquerque NM exposed me to the PrimaLuna Evo 400 integrated amp when I purchased a Rega Planar 3 RS through them that I had brought in for minor adjustment. Was it ListenUp’s Klipsch Cornwall’s killing my Forte’s? Was the improved sound a result of their acoustically engineered listening room? After a follow-up weekend demo session in their store, my questions weren’t answered as much as I wanted but the sound experience was so incredible, I took a chance and walked out with the PrimaLuna Evo 400 integrated amp tucked underneath my arm (not really, this beauty weighs in just under 70 lbs). During that demo session, my wife and I could not believe what we were hearing and crossed our fingers hoping that same sound experience would show up in our home with our existing stereo components. Well, that didn’t quite happen. We were actually blown away at the transformational change this amp brought to our music. The soundstage in our living room was magnitudes better than the demo session at ListenUp (no offense to ListenUP – they are great people and professional). Anyway, to say PrimaLuna nailed it with this integrated amp is a gross understatement. Seven hours later that evening after setting up the amp, we finally ended our night astonished by the changes this amp brought into our listening sessions. We both agreed without hesitation that this purchase was worth every single penny we spent on it. And this says a lot from someone as parsimonious as myself who went from loving his stereo system with no interest to ‘upgrade’ it, to dropping thousands of dollars on an amp that completely awakened their music listening sessions to a level unimagined.
