“… It’s still bitchin’
I’ve had the privilege of reviewing a lot of the world’s best amplifiers during the past seven years, and the ProLogue One is still the one I always suggest to my friends that want to put together a modestly priced yet highly musical audio system. It remains one of the most musically fun components produced, and it now has the track record to back it up.
Grab your favorite pair of speakers, add a CD player (or perhaps a new Squeezbox Touch) and you should have great sound for about $3,000 – $4,000, less if you grab a few used bits. But don’t expect to find a ProLogue One for sale used. Most people keep them forever.
Because of its stellar reputation and high performance for the dollar, we award the Prima Luna ProLogue One one of our Exceptional Value Awards for 2010.
I can’t recommend it highly enough.” Click here to read more
Good review! Well done!
I enjoy very much the fact that our first product after 7 (!) years is still awarded by the International Audio Press. I guess it means that the follow-up of the ProLogue One and ProLogue Two will be certainly appreciated as much or even more. It is in fact a ProLogue Two with several “extra’s”: an EL34/KT88 bias switch, a new version of our Adaptive Auto Bias Board, simplified Bad Tube Indication (by the front led), our new Power Transformer Protection circuit and also our new Output Transformer Protection. Next to that a dedicated powersupply for our PhonoLogue board.
By the way the name of the follow-up model is PrimaLuna ProLogue Classic Integrated Amplifier and it comes with EL34 or KT88 tubes. Or both if you want.
I am sure The Classic will be as successfull as the ProLogue One and ProLogue Two!
A very nice review!
The ProLogue Original amps, as well as the ProLogue Classic Integrated Amplifier, come without remote. These amps are for the pure die-hards who don’t mind to listen to their music without the option of remote controlling their amp. And today we got in for service, a ProLogue Two from a customer who moved from Italy to Holland, WITH a remote ….! The receiver was mounted UNDER the amplifier on the bottomplate :-). And it works. I took a picture, click on the link hereunder. So, these might show up later. So … yes, in Italy they have ProLogue Two amplifiers with a remote controlled volume. They were using an Alps by the way.
