Herman van den Dungen, founder of PrimaLuna, discussing this year’s Consumer Electronics Show and the impact of a younger crowd on today’s hi-fi market.

The first CES (Consumer Electronic Show) was held in 1967 in New York, NY.

From 1978 to 1998 CES was held twice a year, once in January in Las Vegas known as Winter Consumer Show and once in June in Chicago known as Summer Consumer Show.

In 1998 the show changed to a one-a-year event in Las Vegas. It is the largest convention in Las Vegas taking up to 18 days to set up, run and break down.

Herman is attending the show since 1975, until 1998 twice a year and then once a year. He never missed one, that is to say that he has been able to see the changes throughout the years and is considered as a ” CES known face”. His network, built during all those years, is now very large.

During the show, he has different activities linked to his BeNeLux distribution company Durob Audio and/or linked to the promotion of PrimaLuna and Mystere and, this year he added the re-introduction of Kiseki.

Is it a busy event for Herman?… yes quite!
