Primaluna’s exclusive Adaptive AutoBias

Bias is very important. If anybody tells you that they have auto-bias, ask them precisely how. It’s likely to be untrue. As with all PrimaLuna amps, you never have to worry about biasing your amp ever again, and the need for matched tubes is eliminated. Just plug in EL34, KT88, or KT120 (as well as many others) and AAB does the rest while improving sound quality. Tubes are constantly monitored and kept in their best operating range, reducing distortion by up to 50%! AC Offset Killer circuit. A PrimaLuna exclusive.

PrimaLuna’s parent company Durob Audio B.V.. sells this as a stand-alone item since many years under the AH! brand name.
It’s job is three-fold. It filters the incoming main AC. It will sound logic for everybody -I hope- that starting off with clean power is a big advantage. Specially toroid power transformers can react in a nasty way on dirty AC. They start to hum mechanically. No fun. In fact this was the reason we developed this circuit. We were importing hundreds of Krell KAV-300i Integrated Amplifiers with humming transformers . With our circuit the transformers became dead quiet. The toroid PrimaLuna transformers are already dead quiet by the way WITHOUT the AC Offset Killer circuit. Next to that the AC Offset Killer circuit also prevents that any dirt created by the amplifier -yes, that’s normal- goes TO the main AC circuit. What’s more? The AC Offset Killer circuit also prevents damage by (too) high voltages …
